Mparntwe Street Art Festival
Mparntwe Street Art Festival is a rejuvenated event, designed in response to the Alice Springs Social Order Response Plan and in partnership with Activate Alice initiative, NT Government and Alice Springs Town Council.
The festival will run from the 1st of March until the 6th of April 2024.
It is a three-part beautification initiative involving:
Local artworks printed on vinyl wraps on roller shutters (of local traders in the CBD), in partnership with Alice Springs Town Council,
A series of activations and activities centred around safe street art and culture,
The design and install of large-scale murals across town
All wrapped up in two-day festival on the 5th and 6th of April, to celebrate the outcomes.
Red Hot Arts has consulted with local government and other organisations locally, and across the Territory, to collaborate and partner to build a project that has the resources and skills required to be meaningful to local First Nations youth, artists and local people in general.
It is intended that this will become an annual event, with the target audience Alice Springs locals and tourists.
The event aims to create vibrant public spaces, strengthen social cohesion and enhance our community's sense of place, ensuring that artworks installed are fresh, vibrant and appealing to the Alice Springs community.
