Mparntwe Street Art Festival

Mparntwe Street Art Festival is a new local event designed in response to the Alice Springs Social Order Response Plan. It is a three-part beautification initiative involving murals on roller shutters (of local traders in the CBD), a series of at least 6 activations, design and install of large-scale murals and a two-day festival to celebrate the outcomes. Red Hot Arts has consulted with local government and other organisations locally, and in Darwin, to collaborate and partner to build a project that has the resources and skills required to be meaningful to local First Nations youth, artists and local people in general. It is intended that this will become an annual event, with the target audience Alice Springs locals and tourists. The event aims to create vibrant public spaces, strengthen social cohesion and enhance our community's sense of place, ensuring that artworks installed are fresh, vibrant and appealing to the Alice Springs community.
