Monkey Marc and Soom T's cult underground album Bullets Over Babylon (Renegade Masters) brings together Monkey Marc's dark swung out beats with Soom T’s jazz-inflected melodies and blistering rhymes.
Fuelled by a fierce and wild revolutionary energy, this dystopian bass manifesto is more potent than ever in these dark and unsettling times.
Soom T and Monkey Marc first crossed paths through a chance encounter on the cold streets of Leipzig, Germany, surrounded by illegal anarchist punk squats and lofi 8 bit reggae sound systems. The pair quickly got to work creating a searing dystopian soundscape, which Monkey Marc crafted over many months in his solar-powered shipping container studio in Melbourne.
Digging deep into the underbelly of the bass-loving classes, Bullets Over Babylon issues a clarion call to bear witness to the injustice and twisted power plays of the world - and take action.
The album celebrates activist history; civil disobedience; renegade sound systems; underground communities working together to create change in the world; and people power.
