Palyani (Pintupi-Luritja for ‘making’) is an exhibition of ceramics by Purple House patients and part of Desert Mob's Satellite events. This special exhibition includes work by Julie Gordon, Selina Bob, Magda Curtis and Maureen Purvis and their works are all for sale. The exhibition also showcases selected works by much loved past members of the ceramics group who have now passed away, and whose work continues to influence the group and Purple House. This part of the collection is not for sale.
For more than three years this group has met weekly as part of a creative wellbeing program, making ceramics at Charles Darwin University’s Alice Springs campus.
"We talk to each other...
helping each other...
that's why we are happy...
working together.
If someone is not here we are always asking 'who is missing from this class?' "
-Selina Bob, ceramic artist.
