The Araluen Arts Centre brings you a selection of films from the Palestinian Film Festival Australia. The twelve year running festival is on its first regional tour this year creating opportunities for cultural exchange through film. Enjoy this chance to connect with, and get to know, Palestine and Palestinians through a creative showcase of different filmmakers.

Tickets can be purchased for the 2:30 session, 4:30 session or both sessions.

2:30pm session:

Wandering through the ‘worst Zoo in the world’, a young boy Sami is looking for his football.

Despite being part of a young generation of Palestinians whose families chose to stay and challenge the Israeli state after Al-Nakba, 17-year-old Tamer and his friends are just like any other group of teenage boys. They clumsily search for drugs, flirt with girls, play video games, and slack off at school.

4:30pm session:

Gaza Surf Club
A close-knit community of surfers in Gaza tenaciously pursues their passion despite the formidable challenges imposed by the blockade. Constructing their surfboards from recycled materials, the surfers form strong bonds as they engage in competitions, organise surf camps, and celebrate their passion together.
