Get down to the Uniting Church lawns to listen to Stuart Joel Nuggett who has just returned from touring WA and VIC, wowing audiences at Nannup Music Festival and Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Stuart is a Jingili man from Kulumindini (Elliott), now based in Alice Springs/Mparntwe. He grew up not speaking his native tongue. It wasn’t until he matured into adulthood that the urgency to preserve and promote the language hit him hard. 

After contributing to CAAMA records Therrka language series, he was signed to the label and released his debut album ‘Ngaaya-Ma Jingila Baaya’, and in 2023 released the anti-fracking anthem ‘Ilbinginia Agiyabarda’ and headed ‘The Jingili Song Project’, a three week long tour of workshops and performances.

Stu is passionate about the plight of his people and hopes that through his songs he can connect with audiences from all walks of life.
