The Roastery's Friday arvo knock off sessions will play host to the Markets with Mparntwe DJ Jacksen setting the mood.
The markets have a history that stems from years of collaborating around Christmas time with local businesses on Hele crescent; Elbow workshop, Exotic Homewares, Centralian Seedlings, Afghan Traders to attract people to the precinct.
Nowadays we invite local makers to The Roastery itself to set up a stall and sell their wares.
It's perfect timing for supporting local artists and buying more ethically for the silly season.
Punters can expect to find handcrafted and unique ceramics, jewellery, artworks, flowers, native plants, honey, jams and homewares.
'It's a lovely interaction to purchase something made by hand by the person in front of you. The item always retains that story as part of its character. It speaks of this place as well which makes it extra special' Estelle Roberts.
We hope that the Markets contribute to the small business push to buy local.
The message is to support your local small businesses, keep money in our town, avoid big chain cheaply made landfill stuff and have a connected experience in your community while you're at it!
For example, support the Todd Mall businesses late night shopping initiative and more broadly, being more considerate about our purchases' longevity, impact and true costs.
