The Roastery’s exhibition program continues with Faye Alexander’s show Mullock.
Faye trained as a ceramist in Melbourne, California and the Canberra School of Art over a 35-year period. After returning to Alice Springs in 2007, she began to work with found materials. The energy crisis was the catalyst to make sculptures from discarded materials, thus eliminating energy or manufactured materials in her creations.
Faye presents a unique collection of both 2D and 3D artworks using found materials. Most of her work consists of wire and other metal with additional materials added to enhance and bring a further element of interest to a piece.
The exhibition will close on Sept 5th 2PM at The Roastery - 9 Hele Cres - Ciccone.
Home of locally roasted Duyu Coffee, The Roastery supports and exhibits many local artists and is thrilled to see Faye Alexander’s works up on the gallery walls for the first time.
