Little Desert Mob Stories

An exhibition curated by Lorraine Collins, Imani Kani, Talitha Kenny, Erika Loose and Ruby Williams.


Little Desert Mob Stories has been organised by a group of high school students completing their Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Art Industry Work through the VET in Schools program with Batchelor Institute.

This group of young curators came up with the idea to send small canvases to First Nation students across the Central Desert region and invite them to share important stories or things that have meaning to them.

The project gives young artists the opportunity to showcase their artwork in a professional gallery space, many of them for the first time. All paintings are available to purchase for $25, to encourage young artists to grow into the next generation of Desert Mob storytellers.
