This Saturday, 21 March at 2.30pm, Steve Morton and Kim Mahood will be in-store at Red Kangaroo Books to talk about their book Desert Lake: Art, Science and Stories from Paruku.
Desert Lake: Art, Science and Stories from Paruku, edited by Steve Morton, Mandy Martin, Kim Mahood and John Carty, was published in 2013. It focuses on the vast lake system of Paruku (Lake Gregory) and the nearby Walmajarri community of Mulan. The book outlines Walmajarri perspectives on Paruku and its history as well as other artistic and scientific responses to the place. The book became unavailable some years ago but now has been reprinted.
Kim and Steve will converse about the origins of the book, the motivations leading to a reprint, and the continuing interest in Paruku.
This is a free event, but please RSVP via ticketing link with planning.
