Artwork entries open – Northern Territory Art Award

The Northern Territory Art Award, led by Darwin Visual Arts, was established in 2024 to showcase the depth, diversity, and brilliance of Northern Territory artists. Held every two years, the Award is open to artists and creatives across the Northern Territory.

In 2026, the Award will expand in partnership with Charles Darwin University, with the finalists exhibition to be held at the the stunning new Midpul Gallery in the heart of Darwin.

A total prize pool of $10,000 will be awarded across 4 winning categories, including a people's choice award.

Artwork submissions are now open! All NT artists are encouraged to submit their work until midnight, Monday 9 March.

Selected artists will be notified: Friday 27 March 2026

Finalists exhibition dates: Friday, 29 May – Saturday, 11 July 2026
