Celebrate International Tabletop Games Day by coming to play Go Extinct! Megafauna with the paleontologists at Megafauna Central.
Go Extinct! Megafauna is loosely based on Go Fish and is a curriculum-aligned STEM educational card game about Australia’s megafauna and the evolutionary relationships between species.
The game teaches players about the gentle giants and mega-predators that roamed the continent during the Pleistocene epoch and how to read an evolutionary tree, one of the most important diagrams in all of science. The game was developed by Vera Weisbecker from Flinders University, and teaches players scientific language, some mega facts about each animal, and the names of some of the animals in Indigenous languages.
Megafauna Central will distribute copies of the game Go Extinct! Megafauna free of charge to schools and libraries in Central Australia. This has been made possible through the kind donation of copies of the game from the Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH) and Deadly Science.
