Joshua Santospirito, creator of The Long Weekend in Alice Springs, returns to the centre with violinist Natalya Bing to present this audiovisual storytelling performance created from his new graphic novel The Islands Where We Left Our Ancestors.

Wonderful live storytelling made from one part musical theatre, one part comics. The story Joshua and his father hope to locate the burial place of Joshua’s great-great-grandfather on the island of Salina. But it’s not always so easy to find the past you’re looking for, nor to travel with your parents.

Upstairs at Epilogue, doors at 7pm, performance at 8pm. $20 tickets

This event is sponsored by 8CCC.

The Islands Where We Left Our Ancestors is published on July 2 nationally through Scribe. Pick up a copy of the book on the night, or grab it from Red Kangaroo Books afterwards.

This event is held on the stolen lands of the Arrernte people. We pay our respects to their elders past and present and honour their ongoing storytelling traditions. It always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
