Opportunity: Pitch a play for Totem Theatre in 2027!

Are you an experienced or aspiring director who would like to work in Mparntwe Alice Springs' world-famous (allegedly) Totem Theatre?

Here is your chance! Pitches for our May 2027 play are due to be presented at the Alice Springs Theatre Group Committee meeting on Tuesday the 13th October 2026. Following recent years' productions of Tartuffe, Noises Off!!, Last Call and Clue, we are looking for our next show and director!

If you have pitches you would like to put forward, please complete the template available here and submit it to totemtheatre0870@gmail.com.

These will be distributed to committee members at the meeting and sent out with the minutes. Pitches are also welcome to be presented at the meeting, which will be held at 6pm on Tuesday the 13th October 2026 at Totem Theatre. (Please include in your e-mail that you wish to attend the meeting.) The final vote deciding the May play will be made by the Alice Springs Theatre Group Committee on or before Sunday the 1st November.

Please be aware that Totem's plays, musicals and committee are all run solely by volunteers. Whilst Alice Springs Theatre Group can provide a budget for our May play, the roles of cast and crew (including director and producer) are not paid. It is strongly recommended that a person pitching a play should do so with the intention of being either the director or producer (with a commitment from a proposed director).
